Mi Barrio was a nice find while on a business trip to the Atlanta, Georgia area. MI Barrio is definitely one of those hole-in-the-wall, mom-and-pop type joints and I don't mean that in a negative way. I have found that the best Mexican food does not come from some restaurant that has an emphasis on hipster ambiance, but rather, I have found that the best Mexican food comes from these humble little spots. The service here was friendly and prompt. I went with tacos and they definitely were on point. Add some of their sauce and the tacos were definitely a great example of how incredible a taco can be. Mi Barrio is definitely a great option and I would definitely recommend Mi Barrio.

Another 5-star experience at Mi Barrio! I was craving something delicious on my way home from an appointment and saw that Mi Barrio was opening in a few minutes so I figured I'd make a stop. Well unfortunately, the hours were wrong online and I learned that it would be 20min+ until they opened. You think that stopped me? Heck no. I had time and surprisingly, some patience on me that day and I was determined to leave with some grub. A few minutes before the (real) dinner opening time, a truck pulled up and Mama Sunshine popped out. That's not her name but she's always pure sunshine when I visit her! I won't dare try to age her as she looks awesome, has braces and told me her kids were apart of the team and her mom was the chef. Mama looks good okay?! She apologized profusely for me waiting and I told her I was totally fine and that it wasn't on her, I was happy to wait. She got the doors opened and quickly sat me down as the restaurant got running. As soon as you sit, you're given a basket of fresh, warm tortilla chips and a cold side of the most delicious, spicy salsa. Omg I live for that salsa. Sunshine was running around doing prep with the family but continued to check on me while I indecisively looked through the menu as I enjoyed my chips and Jarrito. I asked her opinion on what to get, briefly considering the special of the day which was chicken mole. I ended up going for the chicken enchiladas prepped to go. A young waiter brought me my food to go all packaged and ready, and even brought me a big container of salsa to go. Blessings!!! Once I got home and ready to eat, I knew I was in for a treat. Those enchiladas were IT! Stuffed with huge amounts of shredded chicken in corn tortillas and covered in lettuce and cheese. When I added my salsa and sour cream for some bites, that food didn't stand a chance. I'm already planning my return. Seriously so worth a visit to support this family-owned and operated business! Get some cocktails while you're there!

1st things 1st: this is a small family only restaurant. There is like 4 people working here max. And they are all AMAZING!! The food is great, hot and fresh. Very authentic Mexican. But please understand to be patient. It's a small location that does their own thing. Most customers are regulars and know how things go. Be nice and enjoy the vibes. The food is so worth it. Once it's sold out it's out but I enjoy myself every time I'm there. There is always something else on the menu that I'm able to order instead. As basic as it is, their chips and salsa are great. Always warm and their salsas are amazing with great variety and flavor. I would give 5 stars if the parking was more manageable and maybe a tiny bit more in the menu. The menu has the names of things but I don't always like having to go to google to find out what it is; and even then what Google may give isn't what it is. Parking is not something in their control but something others should be aware of. Park down the street and walk over. The margaritas are THE BEST!

My first time here and Lisa was amazing. I've been looking for some authentic Mexican food and they delivered. The street taco was delicious and the street vibe even better.
